Fun All Year Round!
Fall
Fall Leaf Rubbing
Get some crayons, paper and crunchy fall leaves- that's it! Remove the paper or use big crayons with no paper. Put the leaf under the paper. Turn the crayon on its side and rub on top of the paper where the leaf is and voila! This example from PBS shows how you can make art with multiple leaves at once!

Apple Tasting
This is such a fun project to do with children of all ages! It's a favorite classroom activity that is great for at home too. Buy 3 different types of apples: yellow, green and red or just a few different kinds of your choice. Have your child try each one and describe what it tastes like (help them with words like sour, sweet, crunchy). They can draw a picture of each one, write with help or dictate to you what they want to say to tell about each one. Then, they can pick a "winner" at the end which was their favorite!
Homemade Applesauce!
This is another easy and fun way to use apples, which are perfectly in season right now. it's also a great opportunity to have your little one help in the kitchen, develop some independence and fine motor skills, and spend some quality time with you! Click the image for the recipe!
